What funding a Polymarket wallet means
A Polymarket account trades from a smart wallet on Polygon. Accounts created since May 4, 2026 get a Deposit Wallet. Older accounts use a Proxy Wallet, made at sign-in with email or Google, or a Safe Wallet, made with an external wallet such as MetaMask. The address on a trader's Polymarket profile is that smart wallet.
The wallet holds pUSD, Polymarket USD: an ERC-20 token on Polygon with 6 decimals, backed 1:1 by USDC, with the backing enforced on-chain. Funding a wallet means moving pUSD into it. Withdrawing means moving pUSD out.
Money reaches the wallet in two ways. USDC or USDC.e sent on Polygon is wrapped into pUSD by Polymarket's Collateral Onramp contract. Assets on other chains go through Polymarket's bridge: each wallet gets its own bridge addresses for EVM chains, Solana, Bitcoin and Tron, and whatever arrives there is converted to pUSD on Polygon and credited to the wallet.
Why a fresh deposit into a graded wallet can matter
A wallet with a long, profitable record that suddenly takes in new money has more to trade with than it did yesterday. When that wallet is one you already watch, a deposit is an early prompt: the next trades may be larger than its usual size. The grade tells you whether its trades are worth the attention; the guide at 0xinsider.com/learn/prediction-market-trader-grades-explained covers each letter.
A deposit says nothing about which market or which side comes next. Money can sit idle, leave again, or move between a trader's own wallets, and Polymarket pays its rebates and rewards in pUSD too, so not every inflow is new capital. Treat an inflow as a reason to check the wallet's next trades, not as a signal on its own.
Where the money came from is context too. Two wallets funded from the same address may share an owner, or may both have withdrawn from the same exchange. A shared source is a question to research, not proof. The guide at 0xinsider.com/learn/how-to-spot-insider-trading-polymarket covers how to review unusual activity without overstating it.
How to watch a wallet's funding by hand
Copy the wallet address from the trader's Polymarket profile. Open it on polygonscan.com and go to the ERC-20 token transfers tab. Filter to the pUSD token contract, 0xC011a7E12a19f7B1f670d46F03B03f3342E82DFB.
Each row is one pUSD transfer: the sender, the recipient, the amount and the time. Incoming rows are money arriving and outgoing rows are money leaving. Newly wrapped pUSD arrives as a transfer from the zero address. Trades also move pUSD, so a row whose other side is a Polymarket exchange contract is a trade, not funding.
The manual route has two costs. You have to know which contract addresses are Polymarket's own, and you have to keep going back to look for new rows.
What 0xinsider's funding history shows
Each Polymarket trader profile on 0xinsider has a Wallet funding section: the pUSD that entered and left the wallet on Polygon over the last 7 days, totalled by UTC day, with each movement listed underneath. Each confirmed movement shows its direction, its classification, the sending and receiving addresses and its time, and a move between a trader's own wallets is labelled as one. A day with movements still awaiting verification says how many are pending.
For an inflow from an outside wallet, the list also links the first large trade the wallet made in the next 24 hours. The page adds the caveat itself: timing does not establish how that trade was funded. Transfers are not profit or a wallet balance.
Without Pro, the history runs 4 hours behind. Pro reads confirmed movements live, and the section updates without a page refresh.
Inspect shared funding sources lists the addresses that sent pUSD to the wallet, and can compare it with a second wallet or username to find a source both have in common. Every source and transaction links to Polygonscan. The page says it outright: a common source can be a shared service and does not prove common ownership.
Which wallets have funding coverage
Funding history covers a capped set of wallets, not every Polymarket wallet. Wallets enter it from the traders most followed on 0xinsider and from profiles people have opened on 0xinsider in the last 24 hours, and a trader's verified linked wallets enter with it. Grades do not decide it. When the set is full, no new wallet is added until one leaves.
A profile outside the set says so: "This wallet is outside current funding coverage." The section's Wallet coverage and freshness panel lists the addresses it tracks for that trader, when tracking began, and the last time the source was checked.
How funding alerts work
Funding alerts are part of Pro. They work on one trader at a time: follow the trader from the profile header, open Funding alerts in the Wallet funding section, turn on Notify me of external wallet inflows, and set a minimum amount per confirmed movement in pUSD, from 1 to 100,000,000.
An alert fires for a confirmed transfer of pUSD into the wallet from a wallet with a different owner, at or above your minimum. Own-wallet moves, wrapping (USDC turned into pUSD), ambiguous transfers and history from before you saved are excluded. A movement counts as confirmed once its Polygon block is final. The minimum is a token amount, with no dollar conversion.
Alerts arrive in the app only, in the notification panel, with the amount in pUSD and a link to the wallet's funding section. There is no email for funding alerts. If the evidence behind a movement changes after the alert went out, the notification is updated and marked Evidence revised. Unfollowing the trader or leaving Pro stops delivery.
Alerts for trades, not deposits
A funding alert tells you money arrived. To hear when the same wallet trades, follow it: the guide at 0xinsider.com/learn/how-to-follow-trades-real-time covers the Following feed and its notifications. To hear about large trades across a category, size or grade, whoever places them, set a custom alert from the live feed, covered at 0xinsider.com/learn/how-to-set-up-custom-trade-alerts.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get an alert when a Polymarket wallet is funded?
Yes, with Pro, for a wallet inside 0xinsider's funding coverage. Follow the trader, open Funding alerts on the profile, and set a minimum pUSD amount. Confirmed pUSD inflows from other owners' wallets at or above it arrive as in-app notifications, not email.
Are funding alerts free?
No. Without Pro you can read a covered wallet's funding history 4 hours behind. Live history and funding alerts are Pro. Prices are on 0xinsider.com/pricing.
Does 0xinsider track funding for every Polymarket wallet?
No. Coverage is a capped set drawn from the most-followed traders and recently opened profiles. A wallet outside it says so on its profile, and you can still watch its pUSD transfers on Polygonscan.
What is pUSD?
Polymarket USD, the token every Polymarket wallet trades with. It is an ERC-20 token on Polygon backed 1:1 by USDC. Deposits in USDC, USDC.e or bridged assets are converted to it.
