How to Bet on the WNBA on Polymarket: Moneylines, Spreads, Totals and Player Props

A WNBA game on Polymarket carries a moneyline, a ladder of spreads and totals and, since June 30, points, rebounds and assists props on a named player. This guide covers what each market is and how it settles (a player who is inactive settles her props No, not Under), where the money went on 310 games in 2026 ($140.6 million, 60.8% of it on the moneyline), what the data says about home court (54.9%), how often Overs and favorites landed, and how to follow the season on 0xinsider.

A WNBA game on Polymarket

Polymarket lists each WNBA game as an event titled with the away team first, "Toronto Tempo vs. Seattle Storm" for the Tempo at the Storm. The moneyline pays $1 a share on the team that wins. Around it sit a ladder of spreads, a ladder of totals and, on about half the season's games, player props.

The 2026 season is the first one that carries more than a moneyline. Across 310 games that had started by September 14, a game listed 17.9 markets on average: one moneyline, 3.8 total lines, 2.6 spreads and, from June 30, 8.8 points props, 6.6 rebounds props and 5.9 assists props. The 2025 season listed one market a game, the moneyline, on 316 games.

The money followed. A 2025 WNBA game traded $51,032 on Polymarket. A 2026 game traded $453,653, close to nine times as much across the season, and $140.6 million in all.

Where the money goes on a WNBA game

Across those 310 games of the 2026 season, the moneyline took 60.8% of the volume, $85.5 million. Totals took 20.9% and spreads 17.8%. The three player prop families together took less than half a percent, $669,409 across 3,370 markets.

Read that as a map of liquidity. The 1,390 points props of the season traded $287,661 between them, about $207 a market, so an order that moves nothing on a moneyline moves the price of a prop. Check a market's volume on its page before you size a bet. Spreads and totals were listed from May 13 and the props from June 30, so neither family covers the whole season.

How WNBA markets settle

Each market's rules are on its page. The moneyline resolves to the team that wins, on the final score including any overtime periods. A postponed game keeps the market open until it is played, and a game canceled with no makeup settles 50-50, so each share pays 50 cents. Basketball has no draw, so the moneyline always has a winner once the game is played.

A spread such as "Spread: Minnesota Lynx (-12.5)" resolves to the Lynx if they win by 13 or more points and to their opponent otherwise. A total such as "O/U 185.5" resolves Over if the two teams combine for 186 or more points. Both count overtime.

Player props are worded as a question about one player: "Marina Mabrey: Assists O/U 3.5" resolves Yes if she records more than 3.5 assists and No if she records 3.5 or fewer, across the whole game including overtime. If she is listed as inactive or does not take the court at any point, the market resolves No. That is the rule to check before you buy an Over: a scratched player settles the prop against the Over rather than voiding it. Polymarket settles props on the official WNBA box score published on WNBA.com.

Reading a WNBA price

A Polymarket share pays $1, so its price is a probability. A team at 58¢ is a 58% chance to win, and the other team trades near 42¢. Buy $100 of the 58¢ side and you hold about 172 shares that pay about $172 if the team wins.

Sportsbook odds convert the same way. A favorite at -138 is 138 divided by 238, 58%; an underdog at +138 is 100 divided by 238, 42%. The chart below draws that conversion across the range. A sportsbook's two sides add up to more than 100%, while the two sides of a Polymarket market add up to about $1. The cost of trading is the spread and, on a taker order, Polymarket's fee: WNBA quotes sat one cent wide at the median and two cents at the 90th percentile across 646 quoted moments, and the fee schedule is at 0xinsider.com/learn/polymarket-fees-explained.

What home court is worth in the WNBA

WNBA home teams won 54.9% of 574 games settled on Polymarket, with a half-width of 4.07 points, so the interval runs from 50.8% to 59.0%. That is a real but small edge, and the sample is one and a half seasons: 56.4% over 275 games in 2025. The cross-league study is at 0xinsider.com/research/home-field-advantage-polymarket. A recount on September 14 found 54.4% over 583 settled moneylines: nine more WNBA games have settled since the study ran, and each one moves the rate.

The price already carries it. Large Polymarket buys on WNBA home sides paid 67.8 cents and won 63.8% of the time over 412 buys, and buys on away sides paid 62.4 cents and won 65.8% over 401. Both return intervals include zero, so neither side of the home split was a bet on its own over this stretch.

Spreads in the WNBA

A WNBA spread market names one team and the points it gives. Polymarket lists more than one number for most games, 2.6 on average, and the numbers ran from 0.5 to 17.5 points across the 2026 season, averaging 6.8. A team at -6.5 has to win by 7.

The named side covered 48.7% of 753 settled spread lines across 292 games. Lines inside one game share that game's result, so the interval resamples games rather than lines: it runs from 42.9% to 54.9% and includes an even split. The guide at 0xinsider.com/learn/point-spread-betting-explained covers spreads across sports.

Totals in the WNBA

A WNBA total is a ladder of lines, each paying Over or Under on the combined points. Polymarket listed 3.8 lines a game in 2026, from 145.5 to 195.5 points, averaging 172.7.

Over settled on 52.0% of 1,109 lines across 292 games. Resampling games, the interval runs from 46.3% to 58.1%, so neither side of a WNBA total has settled more often than the other on this sample. The guide at 0xinsider.com/learn/over-under-betting-explained covers how totals are priced.

Player props in the WNBA

Points, rebounds and assists props arrived on June 30, 2026 and have been listed on 158 games since. A game carries 8.8 points props, 6.6 rebounds props and 5.9 assists props, each one a named player against a line.

They are the thinnest markets on the board. The three families traded $669,409 between them across the season, against $85.5 million on the moneyline, and a single points prop averaged about $207 of volume. Two things follow. A large order moves the price, so use a limit order and read the book before you buy. And the inactive rule decides more props than the line does in a season where rest days are common: check the injury report and the starting five, because a player who never takes the court settles her Over as a loss.

Live WNBA betting

WNBA markets keep trading after tip-off, and the prices move with every possession. 27.3% of 1,453 large WNBA buys in the April to September 2026 timing study landed after the start rather than before it; the study is at 0xinsider.com/research/when-large-sports-bets-land.

Across all 1,454 large WNBA buys of that window, buyers paid 58.9 cents on average and the side they bought won 58.3% of the time, 0.57 points short of the price they paid. That is close enough to the price to say the WNBA market is roughly efficient at this size, and it is measured at 0xinsider.com/research/favorite-longshot-bias-polymarket-sports.

A limit order at your price avoids chasing a moving market, and a resting order that fills pays no taker fee. To take a position off during the game, sell your shares; the guide at 0xinsider.com/learn/cash-out-betting-explained covers when that makes sense.
